Credit reports & scores
Under federal law you can obtain free credit reports and review them for accuracy before you apply for credit or a mortgage.
Official free reports. Visit AnnualCreditReport.com — the only site authorized by Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion for free weekly reports (availability of weekly access may change; read the site for current terms).
Three major bureaus. You may dispute incomplete or inaccurate information directly with the bureau that furnished the report. Keep copies of letters and track deadlines.
Specialty reports. Some landlords, employers, and insurers use specialty consumer reports. You have rights to disclosure and dispute under the Fair Credit Reporting Act for many of these files—see the CFPB for current guidance.
Our counselors can help you read your report and plan next steps: credit counseling · contact.
